Bugden Legal is a small Queensland law firm focused on providing Legal solutions to all stakeholders on body corporate and community management issues.

Principal lawyer Gary Bugden OAM has a wealth of practical experience in strata and community titles – as a lawyer, real estate development consultant and as a director of several companies involved in the strata industry.

Nationally, Gary has been a long term partner of a National law firm, former Adjunct Professor of Law, National Editor of the Australian Property Law Bulletin and is a Fellow and former Founding President of the Australian College of Community Association Lawyers. He is the author of numerous books and loose-leaf services on body corporate law and management in NSW and QLD.

Internationally, Gary has consulted for many overseas Governments on strata title, land law and real estate laws, most recently setting up the strata and community title legal framework for the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Governments. Additionally, he has worked on the title and management structuring of some of the largest and most complex real estate developments in the world.

Gary’s leadership at Bugden Legal is now available to Governments, bodies corporate, their committees, managers and owners.

Gary Bugden

Dr Gary Bugden OAM was admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales in 1970 and practiced in Sydney for some 20 years, initially as a partner in Blackshaw Lindsay & Bugden and later as a partner in Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King and Wood Mallesons). In 1989 he moved to Brisbane to head up a small team of partners to open up the Queensland office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques. He served on the firm’s senior management team and National Board for some 12 years before retiring from the firm in 2002. Following a period working in the development industry in Queensland and Dubai (UAE) he returned to Australia and established Bugden Legal.

Tsung-Han (Kevin) Pai

Kevin Pai is a Legal Practitioner Director of Bugden Legal. Kevin is an honours graduate from the University of Queensland and a Member of the Australian College of Strata Lawyers. He practices in the strata and community title development area, as well as general body corporate advice work (particularly caretaker related work). Kevin is one of a hand full of lawyers experienced in Queensland’s historical body corporate legislation, such as the MUD Act, IRD Act and the BUGT Act. He is a driving force behind the firm’s innovative technology strategy and is committed to ensure that the firm delivers to its clients the most comprehensive range of digital strata legal services.
